Josh Beckett was drafted by the Florida Marlins as the 2nd pick in the 1st round of the 1999 draft and has since grown to become one of the premier young pitchers in the major leagues. Beckett played his first MLB game with the Marlins in 2001 and remained with Florida until 2006 when he was traded to the Red Sox. He is a 2 time American League All-Star in 2007 and 2009 as well as a 2 time World Series Champion in 2003 and 2007. Beckett achieved fame in the 2003 postseason by winning the World Series MVP Award with two great performances on only three days rest. Teamed up with star catcher Iván Rodríguez, he helped the Marlins win the World Series over the favored Yankees, 4 games to 2. Beckett was also voted the ALCS MVP for the Red Sox in 2007.
This black fielding glove was used by Josh Beckett during the 2008 season. As indicated on the inside thumb area, the glove is a Reebok model VRPRO1275. On the inside of the pinky area is engraved the length “12.75 inch”. The outside thumb area is embroidered with the name “JOSH BECKETT”. The glove features a web basket while the inside of the glove is made of Deer Tanned Cowhide. The glove is soft and well-broken in from use.
This glove was obtained directly from Josh Beckett by Platinum Marketing International (PMI) at was signed by Beckett in the presence of a PMI representative at a private signing. Beckett signed the outside of the glove and added the inscription “Game Used 2008”. In fact, PMI LOA that comes with this item includes pictures of Beckett signing the glove.
