LOT: 16 Santonio Holmes 11-16-2008 Pittsburgh Steelers Game Worn Jersey (Santonio Holmes LOA)
DESCRIPTION:
Santonio Holmes played college football with the Ohio State Buckeyes. Holmes started at receiver for The Ohio State University from 2003 to 2005, catching 245 passes for 2,295 yards and 25 touchdowns, while gaining 3,123 all-purpose yards. His 240 career receptions and 3,496 yards ranked were the fifth totals highest in school history at the time he left the Buckeyes in 2005. Holmes was drafted in the 1st round of the 2006 NFL draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers. Holmes led the NFL in 2007 with 18.1 yards per reception, In Super Bowl XLIII, Holmes secured the Steelers' NFL-record 6th Super Bowl win after catching a 6-yard touchdown pass from Ben Roethlisberger with 35 seconds left in regulation. His NFL accolades include Super Bowl Champion XLIII and Super Bowl XLIII MVP.
Offered here is the jersey Holmes wore on 11/16/08 vs. San Diego Chargers during their 2008 Super Bowl champion season and Holmes’ Super MVP season. The jersey inside neck tag has been removed. The jersey left chest exhibits the "Pittsburgh Steelers" embroidered patch. Holmes' number "10" is on front and back and both sleeves sewn in white tackle twill. On back sewn on a black name plate is "HOLMES" in gold tackle twill with black outline. The jersey is signed and inscribed on the verso numbers “SB XLIII MVP, 5 rec 63 yds, GAME USED 11-16-2008”.
Jersey is accompanied with a Santonio Holmes LOA and hologram. Actual, good game worn Steelers jerseys are next to impossible to find. This Holmes jersey was acquired directly from Holmes as attested to by Holmes’ letter.
